Read it as a numbering clue
An area code helps organise a telephone numbering plan. It does not prove who answered, where a device is now or whether a claimed identity is genuine. Keep those questions separate.
Avoid a person-level conclusion
Numbers can appear in old records or be reused. A directory association may be incomplete or outdated. Treat a listed name as an association to verify, not an authenticated identity.
Choose an appropriate source
For numbering information, begin with NANPA’s published resources. For an unexpected financial or account request, use the organisation’s established contact route rather than inferring trust from the area code.
